Performance
If you are interested in a hybrid car, then fuel economy is probably on your mind—while some hybrids are designed for boosted performance, a hybrid engine is often built for improved efficiency first and foremost. That is certainly the case with the powertrain that Honda has put together for the 2025 Civic, though you do not have to worry about missing out on any performance with this engine. Honda’s approach is perfect in this regard since you still get a car that is incredibly fun to drive, while enjoying the freedom of fewer stops for gas.
Fuel Economy
The best way to fully appreciate what the Civic Hybrid model offers is to compare it to the engine you will find in the standard 2025 Honda Civic. Looking at the Civic LX, it comes with a 2.0L I-4 engine that offers 158 hp and 138 lb-ft of torque. This engine lets the Civic get an estimated 32 MPG in the city, 41 MPG on the highway, and 36 MPG of combined fuel efficiency, which is excellent for a conventional gas engine.[b]
If you go with one of the Honda Civic Hybrid models, however, then you get a similar 2.0L I-4 engine tuned for 141 hp and 134 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to its two-motor hybrid system, however, you get a combined 200 hp from the engine and motors, ensuring you have a fantastic time on the road each day. What is truly impressive, however, is that the Civic Hybrid gets an estimated 50 MPG in the city, 47 MPG on the highway, and 49 MPG of combined fuel efficiency.[b] You can see this is a decent improvement for highway driving and a massive increase in gas mileage when driving around town, making this car perfect for running errands, picking up kids from school, and everything else you need to take care of.

High-End Upgrades
If you are interested in an enhanced driving experience, consider the Sport Touring Hybrid model, which provides you with several upgrades beyond the standard features. The Sport Touring Hybrid comes with an automatic-dimming rearview mirror, which is a nice touch to help you avoid being blinded by cars behind you at night. You also get an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with this trim, a four-way power front-passenger seat, and leather-trimmed seating. This one comes with a larger 10.2-inch Driver Information Interface Screen, a 9-inch infotainment display, and a 12-speaker Bose Premium Sound System with a subwoofer. If you are looking for the most advanced interior for the Civic Hybrid, then this is the way to go.
